$45.00

Karen’s PLEA: To protect and honor animals in the wild.

About Karen: Karen Heagle is a painter known for her vivid works on paper that depict still life, landscape, portraits and animal subjects. Her work often reflects autobiographical symbolism thematically focused on memento mori, feminism, sexuality and queer identity. Her paintings activate an intersection between ideologies surrounding salvation and the resurrection, with other spiritual traditions surrounding reincarnation and magical transformations of the physical body.

Heagle has exhibited at Sargents Daughters, On Stellar Rays, Churner and Churner Gallery, Invisible Exports, and I-20 Gallery, in New York City. Recently her work was included in: Found: Queer Archeology: Queer Abstraction, at the Leslie Lohman Museum of Gay and Lesbian Art. Her work is in the Judith Rothschild Collection of Contemporary Drawings at Museum of Modern Art in New York City, Collecion-Jumex, Mexico City, and the Deste Foundation in Athens Greece.
